LESSON OF THE DAY 1087

Ayah of the Day:
Those who lower their voices in the presence of the messenger of God are those whose hearts God has tested for conscience; there is forgiveness for them, and a tremendous reward. [49: 3]

Hadith of the Day:
Shake hands (in greeting) and rancor will disappear. Give presents to each other and love each other, and enmity will disappear. [Muwatta]

Wise Quote of the Day:
God calls Himself "Seeing" so that His ever-watching eye may scare you away from sinning. Whether the breeze be cold or hot, the Cognizant is aware, not absent, O infirm man. [Mawlana Rumi]

Guidance of the Day:
Your purpose on earth is to make peace. As you have discovered this purpose, the power to heal relationships comes to rest in your hands. You hold the entire universe within yourself. Take all into your arms, and all persons and things reveal themselves to be the expression of God's Love for you, which is really your Love for Him.

Where there is Love, the purpose of life is understood. Where there is no love, there is nothing. We implore you to raise each precious moment of relationship up to the altar of the Most High. Hold your fellows in holy respect, and speak to all as you would speak to the holiest angel. [Cohen, The Dragon Doesn't Live Here Anymore]

Food for Thought:
To do anything in this world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can. Getting an idea should be like sitting on a pin, it should make you jump up and do something. Why always "not yet"? Do flowers in spring say, "not yet"?
