LESSON OF THE DAY 1079

Ayahs of the Day:
Believers, obey God, and obey the messenger; and don't let your actions be in vain. As for those who scoff and hinder others from the way of God and then die while they are disbelievers, God will not forgive them. So do not waver, and appeal for peace while you hold the upper hand. God is with you and will never cheat you in your deeds. [47: 33,34,35]

Hadith of the Day:

If you avoid forbidden actions, your prayers will be responded. [Ahmad]

Wise Quote of the Day:

Be hard on yourself, and easy on others. [Imam Shafi'i]

Guidance of the Day:
The good intention that we invest in our acts far outshines the outer forms. The noble challenge of our lives is to reach out, to act, and to live for what we know is real, even if that reality is not apparent to our own senses. This is the only real faith.

You have everything that you need to transform the earth into paradise. The world is waiting for your love. Do not wait for the world to love you, for that is the great mistake of the world, the very thought which stands between pain and happiness. Give your love fearlessly, and darkness shall flee like the shadow that it is. You are marked by the Light in your heart. [Cohen, The Dragon Doesn't Live Here Anymore]

Food for Thought:
He who angers you conquers you. For every minute you remain angry you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind. Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret. How much more grievous are the consequences of anger than the causes of it!
