LESSON OF THE DAY 882

Ayah of the Day:
There are some people who vend amusing tales to lead astray from the way of God in the absence of knowledge, making a joke of it; there is a degrading punishment in store for them. [31: 6]

Hadith of the Day:
A person is together with the one he loves in this world and in the Hereafter. [Bukhari]

Wise Quote of the Day:
Fear and hope are two pillars of faith. Those who fear devote themselves to God through fear of separation from Him, and those who hope worship in hope of realizing the ultimate union. [al-Razi]

Guidance of the Day:
Self-discipline is the foundation of freedom. This self-discipline, this mastery of self, is acquired only by the practice of self-denial and is acquired always from within. Discipline can never be imposed upon a person; it must emerge from within a person. Self-discipline is the foundation of greatness, achievement, success, heroism, leadership, sanctity, and vibrant and flourishing communities and nations. There is no liberty where there is no self-discipline.

If you examine the lives of men and women who have achieved little or nothing with their lives, people who are miserable, mean, and dispassionate, you will discover that it was not other people who destroyed their lives. Destruction always comes from within. It is true for a nation, and it is true for people. [Kelly, The Rhythm of Life]

Food for Thought:
Know that it is good to work. Work with love and think of liking it when you do it. Good for body is the work of the body, good for the soul is the work of the soul, and good for either is the work of the other.
