LESSON OF THE DAY 850

Ayahs of the Day:
And on the Day when the Hour will be established, that Day (all men) shall be separated (according to what they have done). Then those who have believed and done righteous deeds, such shall be esteemed and made happy in the luxury of Gardens of Delight. [30: 14,15]

Hadith of the Day:
To be rich is not to own the goods of this world, but to "realize" the treasures God has placed in you. [Bukhari & Muslim]

Wise Quote of the Day:
So long as you are in this world, be not surprised at the existence of sorrows. For, truly, it manifests nothing but what is keeping with its character or its inevitable nature. [Ibn Ata'Allah]

Guidance of the Day:
Our greatest emotional need is for intimacy. Beyond the primary needs for food, water, sleep, and air to breathe, intimacy is the greatest need of the human person. Life is a self-revelation. Life expands in direct proportion to our ability to reveal ourselves to others and to the world around us. Create an environment where people feel safe to be themselves and reveal themselves, and together you will drink from the springs of intimacy. The more two people are able to share and accept without judgment, the more intimacy they will enjoy.

We must ask ourselves these questions: "Do we provide a non-judgmental environment for others to reveal themselves to us?" "Do we affirm those we love by complimenting them and expressing gratitude, not only for what they do, but for who they are?" "When others make mistakes, are we quick to judge and ridicule, or do we acknowledge it as a learning experience and part of their journey?" Are we willing to take the first step and make ourselves vulnerable by beginning to reveal our true selves to others?" [Kelly, Rhythm of Life]

Food for Thought:
In the hour of adversity be not without hope; for crystal rain falls from black clouds. Man is never helped in his suffering by what he thinks for himself, but only by revelation of a wisdom greater than his own. It is this which lifts him out of his distress.
