LESSON OF THE DAY 125

Ayahs of the Day:
Your (real) friends are Allah, His Messenger, and the Believers--those who establish regular prayers and regular charity, and they bow down humbly (in worship). As to those who turn (for friendship) to Allah, His Messenger, and the Believers--it is the fellowship of Allah that must certainly triumph. [5: 55,56]

Hadith of the Day:
The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it. [Bukhari]

Wise Quote of the Day:
Be a good man to Allah and a bad man to yourself (desires), and be one of the commoners among the people. [Ali radi Allahu anhu]

Guidance of the Day:
It is important to realize that understanding, knowledge, and good fortune come from God the Exalted, as well as from asking God for guidance by supplicating Him. For God the Exalted is the One who guides those who seek His guidance.

So the followers of truth--who are the followers of the Prophet's way (peace be upon him) and the community of believers---seek the truth from God the Exalted who Himself is the Truth, the Elucidator, the Guide, the Protector (against error). So God the Exalted leads the followers of truth and protects them from error.

However people of misguidance admire their own intelligence and their opinions. They seek the truth only from mortals who are weak and only have reasoning (without revelation from God). For human reasoning does not encompass everything in all aspects, just as vision does not reveal all things to the sight. These people are veiled from and incapable of the highest truth. Consequently, they stray from the path of god and cause others to stray with them. [Instruction of the student--The method of learning]

Food for Thought:
May we live every day of our lives. The price for anything is the amout of life we exchange it for. Life is like a coin, we can spend it any way we wish, but we can only spend it once.
