LESSON OF THE DAY 118

Ayah of the Day:
Forbidden for you are dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which has been invoked the name other than Allah; that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal, unless you are able to slaughter it, that which is sacrificed on Stone (Altars); (Forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows; that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion. yet fear them not but fear Me. This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. [5: 3]

Hadith of the Day:
If somebody from you left his seat for a while and returns after sometime, he is more entitled to take the seat he had left. [Muslim]

Wise Quote of the Day:
What a difference between what He (Allah) brings to you and what you present to Him. [Ibn ataillah]

Guidance of the Day:
Earnestness, perseverance, and assiduity are indispensable in the quest for knowledge. It is said that he who seeks something and is industrious (in so doing) shall find it; and he who knocks at the door and is persistent shall enter.

It is said that you will reach what you desire only to the extent that you pursue it. The industriousness of three kinds of people is essential in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding: the student, the teacher, and the father, if he is among the living. [Instruction of the student--The method of learning]

Food for Thought:
It's not the voting that's democracy, it's the counting. Democracy gives every man the right to be his own oppressor.
