LESSON OF THE DAY 112

Ayahs of the Day:
What can Allah gain by your punishment, if you are grateful and you believe? It is Allah that recognizes (all good), and knows all things. Allah does not love evil talk in public, except where injustice has been done; for Allah is He who hears and knows all things. Whether you do good openly or keep it secret, or forgive evil, surely Allah is Forgiving and Powerful. [4: 147,148,149]

Hadith of the Day:
One who is devoid of kindness is devoid of the good of every kind. Where there is softness it beautifies that thing, and from which it is taken away it snatches its glamour. [Muslim]

Wise Quote of the Day:
Better to look at the defects in you than to look for the unseen worlds that are veiled from you. [Ibn Ataillah]

Guidance of the Day:
When undertaking the study of knowledge, it is necessary to choose among all the branches of learning which are the most beneficial to oneself. One should also select what is essential according to the stage one has reached in his religious development. And finally, one should choose what will be essential to one in the future.

It is essential to choose established traditions before new things. Beware of becoming engrossed in those disputes which come after one has cut loose from the traditional authorities. For (such dispute) keeps the student away from knowledge, wastes away his life, and leave him with (nothing but) solitude and hostility. [Instruction of the student--The Method of learning]

Food for Thought:
There is nothing on this Earth more prized than true friendship. Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies. The only way to have a friend is to be one.
