LESSON OF THE DAY 24

Ayahs of the Day
Made beautiful for mankind is the love of desires, for women and offsring, of hoarded treasures of gold and silver, of branded horses, cattle and plantations. These are the comforts of this life; yet with Allah is the best of all goals. Say(O Muhammad:) "Shall I tell you of better things than that? For those who are Godfearing shall be gardens with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, and pure spouses, and the good pleasure of Allah. For in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. [3: 16,15]

Hadith of the Day

The most hated to Allah is one who constantly argues. [Bukhari & Muslim]

Wise Quote of the Day

The sickness affecting your heart, O poor one, comes from the passions which pass through you. If you were to abandon them and concern yourself with what God ordains for you, your heart would not suffer as it suffers now. [Shaykh Al Darqawi]

Guidance of the Day
A quick-acting poison is extended false hope, which is assuring oneself that death is a long way off. This generates hardheartedness and indolence regarding obligations, which leads to inroads to the prohibited. The dangers of this delusion are self-evident.

There is a place for long hopes; in fact, it's a mercy from God that we are capable of it, otherwise no one would embark on a course of education, or undertake any endeavor that takes years before completion.

Taking it a step further, one of the problems of the modern society is that people are beginning to completely lose hope in the future. We live in a fast food culture, in which we are lead to believe that we need to have everything now; it is a culture that causes people to lose a sense of a future worth waiting for. [Purification of the Heart]
