LESSON OF THE DAY 621

Ayahs of the Day:
He (Abraham's father) said, "Do you detest my gods, Abraham? If you don't restrain yourself, I'll stone you. Now leave me alone for a long time. Abraham said, "Peace be upon you. I will seek forgiveness for you of my Lord, Who has been gracious to me. [19: 46, 47]

Hadith of the Day:
The upper (giving) hand is superior to the lower (taking) hand. [Bukhari & Muslim]

Wise Quote of the Day:
Do not be like persons on whom advice has no effect and who require punishment to correct themselves. A sensible and reasonable man acquires education and culture through advice, and brutes and beasts always accept correction through punishment and chastisement. [Ali radi Allah anhu]

Guidance of the Day:
God's will: Each day, ask God what God wants us to do today; then ask God to help. A simple request, but so profound and far reaching it can take us anywhere we need to go.

Listen: all that we want, all that we need, all the answers, all the help, all the good, all the love, all the healing, all the wisdom, all the fulfillment of desire is embodied in this simple request. We need say no more than Thank You.

This plan that has been made for us is not one of deprivation. It is one of fullness, joy, and abundance. Walk into it. See for yourself. Today ask God to show you what He wants you to do for this day, and then ask for help to do that. Trust that this is sufficient to take you into light and joy. [The Language of Letting Go]

Food for Thought:
The only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions, running down their friends, side stepping their responsibilities, and pushing their luck.
