Ayahs of the Day:
One day He will gather them all together, (and say): "O you assembly of jinns! Much (toll) did you take of men." Their friends amongst men will say: "Our Lord! we made profit from each other: but (alas!) we reached our term which you did appoint for us." He will say: "The Fire be your dwelling place; You will dwell therein forever, except as Allah wills. For your Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge. Thus do we make the wrongdoers turn to each other, because of what they earn. [6: 128,129]

Hadith of the Day:
A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer--however, there is goodness in every (believer). Be eager for (and strive after) what benefits you and seek help in Allah. And do not be too weak or lazy to do so. [Muslim]

(Al Nawawi notes that the meaning of "strong" in this hadith is, "of strong resolve, one whose mind is intent on the affairs of the Hereafter.")

Wise Quote of the Day:
Whoever is full of greed debases himself, whoever reveals his distress accepts humiliation, and whoever lets his tongue rule him becomes despicable in his own eyes. [Ali radi Allah anhu]

Guidance of the Day:
Life is short, time is precious, death is near, and the distance to travel great, while the moment of standing before God to account for everything, however seemingly insignificant, is daunting and difficult. Observe in everyday life how a given person is preoccupied with what he considers most important and beneficial to himself--while he hardly ever thinks about what preoccupies others.

If this is what people do in their daily lives, how can they avoid doing the same for matters concerning the Hereafter? Although a person who gives priority in the world to the affairs of others over his own may be praised for it, this is not so in religious matters, when the opposite is the case. [Knowledge and Wisdom]

Food for Thought:
Success is dependent on effort.
No man succeeds without a good woman behind him. Wife or mother, if it is both, he is twice blessed indeed.
